Hello!
This is why I teach: I try to let you understand the soft approach. Softness goes much deeper, softness seeks to understand, softness is open-minded, softness is willing to collaborate, softness is heartfelt, and therefor softness is not per se easy. “Don’t underestimate the power of softness”.

Take time to slow down, mindfully observe where balance is needed in the body. What parts of the body need space, which need re-awakening, a re-hydration, awareness and which ones need some more strength? It’s not the gripping kind of strength, the holding on tightly and pushing. But it’s the soft supporting strength from within. Where we can keep things flowing and moving. It’s nuanced strength, where muscles are not turned on or off; but can do as much as is needed for the purpose. Small deep movements to nurture the body from the inside out.
Her Story
After taking several yoga teacher trainings (500+ hour) , I began studying fascia. I incorporate this knowledge into all my classes. For me, fascia training was the missing link between my yoga practice and strength training. I thought yoga would keep my body flexible and strength training would keep it strong. Yet, I kept experiencing physical symptoms. Once I started training my connective tissue, however, I became stronger without sacrificing flexibility.
When you take a class with me, you're doing more than just moving your body. You also learn a thing or two about your body, become more aware of your body and how it moves. In FAMO Fascia Movement exercises are taken from yoga and pilates, but we mindfully execute them in a manner that bring the fascia in focus. Expect a technical class with expert guidance and the use of soft massage balls. In my classes there's a lot of information at first. But, as all the information sinks in, you will begin to understand your body and posture better, along with its resources and challenges.

I completed my first yoga training in 2013. This was followed by several follow-up courses. I have always been interested in the anatomy of the body. When I met Michael Watson, he introduced me to Anatomy Trains. Anatomy Trains is a book by Tom Myers that maps the body's connective tissues (fascia). These lines of muscles and connective tissue work together. I began studying Anatomy Trains Structural Integration, a form of manual therapy. After completing Level 1, I discovered Slings Myofascial Training, the movement variant of Anatomy Trains. Karin Gurtner developed FAMO Fascia Movement (formerly Slings Myofascial Training) in collaboration with Tom Myers. I have been a certified Advanced Level FAMO Fascia Movement instructor since 2024.

I have taught several yoga teacher trainings at Movements Yoga in Amsterdam. I also teach anatomy classes for other yoga and Pilates teacher trainings.

I am currently teaching in both Amsterdam and Den Bosch where I live with my family. I offer online classes where you can join live online or via recording (you’ll have access to the recording for a week). I offer private body readings, where I read your body for compensation patterns. I will give you some exercises to come to a more balanced posture. We video tape the exercises so you can continue to do them at home.
